Gazebo Blueprints, Build the Gazebo of your Dreams
![]() |
If you're a handyman and thinking about building a gazebo from the ground up, the first thing you'll want to get are blueprints to start your project. You can obtain blueprints for free from your local library, home improvement store, or through a simple search of websites online. You can obtain gazebo blueprints for free at some of these places, while others will charge you a slight fee ranging from $10 on up.
There are even websites that will supply you with links from other websites for gazebo blueprints of different sizes, shapes, and styles. You’ll be amazed at the various selections that you have to choose from, there’s something for everyone. You can find inexpensive plans that include step-by-step instructions, how-to-hints and large scale details, and a complete list of the material that you will need to complete your project.
If you're a more experienced contractor you can get architectural blueprints that are a bit more involved, while these blue prints are more specific to your needs, they are a bit more expensive. Of course, if building is something you do all the time, you will know ways to cut down on some of the cost along the way.
Of Course, if you’re having trouble finding a plan that's just right for you, or maybe you just don’t have the extra time, you always have the option of having an easy-to-assemble or pre-built structure kit delivered right to your own front door. You have your choice of dozens of different gazebos in cedar, pine, pressure-treated wood, aluminum and vinyl by top Canadian and US manufacturers.
There are even gazebos that are built to withstand hurricanes which are built to comply with the hurricane codes specific to your area.
Your gazebo blueprints should come with very specific instructions for assembling your gazebo, along with a detailed list of the materials that you will need, including how much wood, wood size, width, and length, what type of screws and nails and the amount needed, the type of covering that your gazebo will require for the roof, and any other materials that are needed in order to complete you project.
Gazebo blueprints should also give you an overview of what you will be spending on the entire project.
Gazebo shapes range from square, round, octagon, to hexagon. Make sure your Blueprints allow you to make necessary changes to your gazebo such as changing the size of your deck or the type of roof you would like. You should be able to customize your blueprints in order to suit your needs.
If you order your blueprints online, make sure you receive your plans on a CD. This gives you the option of having a place to store your blueprints for use at your convenience. The CD’s are usually interactive with many features that a paper blueprint does not have. Some of the CD’s for blueprints even offer retailers that are available to purchase your supplies at.
Whether you're building it yourself or you've chosen to employ a contractor, be sure to have blueprints before you start your gazebo project.
